10/04/2017

The body found in Cloverland Township on Tuesday October 3rd was that of reported missing person Fredrick Luostari.

Luostari, 52, had last been heard from on Thursday Sept. 28th.  His vehicle was located by family members on Friday Sept. 29th, stuck in mud on family property located on Rudolph’s Rd.  He was reported missing to the sheriff’s office on Sunday afternoon Oct 1st.

A ground search was initiated on Monday October 2nd covering the area between Rudolph’s Rd and Beck’s Rd.  The search resumed on Tuesday and was concluded when Luostari was located at 12:30pm in the woods about one hundred yards east of Becks Rd, about a half mile north of his residence.

It appears that after getting his car stuck, he attempted to walk home west through the woods the approx. half mile to his home, and he became disoriented. An autopsy was performed Wednesday in Anoka County, MN.  The results are pending, however foul play is not suspected.

The matter remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff and Medical Examiner’s Offices.
