SUBJECT: Third Suspect Arrested in Gordon/Wascott Burglaries

A third suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the rash of burglaries in the Gordon-Wascott areas late last year.

Mark J. Swanson, 41, of Gordon was arrested outside the courtroom on May 15 where his son Dylan Swanson, 21, was making an appearance on 19 counts of burglary. Dylan Swanson was bound over for further proceedings that day.  Mark Swanson had a preliminary hearing on May 28 where he was also bound over for further proceedings.

Deputies executed a search warrant in November at the Swanson residence in Gordon.  DNA evidence and items recovered from that warrant, along with items recovered from the scene of a September 2013 burglary on School House Rd. in Gordon, were sent to the WI Crime Lab. A lab report received May 14 linked Mark Swanson to the School House Rd burglary to a certainty of 1 in 7 trillion. Swanson was arrested the next day in the courthouse. His next court appearance will be June 23rd.

This makes three persons charged in the Gordon-Wascott burglaries thus far:

Mark Swanson, 41, Gordon, 1ct Burglary

Dylan Swanson, 21, Gordon, 19cts Burglary

Jacob King, 19, Gordon, 19cts Burglary

This investigation is on-going.  No further information is available for release at this time.
