Juveniles in Custody After Threat to School

03/10/2021

Two 12 year old males are in the secure custody of the Douglas County Juvenile Intake authorities this evening after an investigation into threats made to the Northwestern Middle School.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was made aware late Tuesday evening of threats made by the two Middle School students.  They were allegedly overheard by other students making detailed, specific plans to 'shoot up' the school, and targeting a specific individual.  The investigation continued into Wednesday leading to the detention of the two juveniles.

The Sheriff's Office believes there is no further imminent threat to any of the Maple School District schools stemming from this incident, however extra patrols will be on hand Thursday and Friday.
