A 59 year-old Bennett woman was airlifted to a local hospital this afternoon after being struck by a train.

The incident was called into Douglas County 911 by the railroad at 2:35pm.  The incident occurred on the railroad tracks between Olson Rd and Bebe Rd in the town of Bennett.  The woman was on foot.

The incident is being investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the CN Railroad Police.
