One person was killed in a one-vehicle traffic crash on USH 53 in the Town of Solon Springs on Friday afternoon.

The crash was reported to Douglas County 911 at 5:49pm, Friday November 22, 2019 just south of the Solon Springs Airport.

The vehicle was traveling southbound on USH 53 at an apparent high speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver and lone occupant was identified as Trevor Polus, 21, of Eau Claire.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Douglas County Medical Examiner.
