End of Year Message from the Sheriff
As the New Year approaches, I want to take this time to acknowledge our staff for their contributions to our success in the past year. I believe we have some of the most dedicated administrative staff, deputies, and civilian staff in the history of our office. I want to thank each and every one of them for their dedication and hard work and encourage you to do the same when you see them.
We have had several successes this past year that I am very proud of. Some of these include:
• Launch of the Too Good for Drugs Program
• Launch of this Website and accompanying social media
• Combining of the Narcotics Units of the Sheriff’s Office and Superior Police Dept. and the successes of that unit including federal convictions of three in a multi-state drug ring
• The end of a three year court battle and the restoration of Jail Officer’s union rights
I would also like to acknowledge our community for their tremendous support and efforts in helping to make Douglas County a safer place to live. We appreciate your input and assistance, and we are happy to know our website is important and useful to so many of you.
As we approach a new year, my commitment to the citizens of this County remains strong, and I will continue to work with you to improve the quality of life for the current and future residents of Douglas County.
Sheriff Thomas G. Dalbec
