At approximately 2:30 PM Saturday (March 18, 2017), Douglas County Sheriff’s Office personnel along with local First Responders were dispatched to an ATV crash on Clara Barton Road, in the Town of Oakland.

Upon arrival, it was determined that there was a single vehicle crash with the ATV operator having sustained life threatening injuries. The ATV operator was airlifted to a Duluth hospital.

On March 19th, the ATV operator passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

The identity of ATV operator is Andrew Mikrot (28 years of age) from South Range, WI.

The crash remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and WI. DNR.
