Sheriff Investigates Town of Summit Drowning

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drowning incident in the Town of Summit.

Deputies were called on Saturday afternoon March 28 at 1:07pm to the Pioneer Trail, about a quarter mile west of CTH A, at the Bear Creek crossing, to a report of a body floating in the Creek.

Deputies found the body of Jenene Thompson, 39, Foxboro, partially submerged in the creek. An autopsy performed Sunday March 29 determined the cause of death as drowning.

The incident remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
